Connecticut

Home Care Program for Elders

The Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders (CHCPE) provides a wide range of services to Connecticut residents age 65 or older. The program has a three-tiered structure through which individuals can receive home care services which may include direct state funding and/or funding through a federal Medicaid waiver program. Each category has specific eligibility requirements including income and asset requirements.

Aid and Attendance Pension for Veterans

We hold in high regard those who served our country. Veterans and spouses of veterans may be eligible for in-home care assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Generally speaking, the veteran must have served at least 90 days of active duty to qualify, among other requirements. For more information about the program, please visit www.ct.gov.

Long-Term Care Insurance

Many long-term care insurance policies provide for non-medical home care services to assist with the activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation, and feeding. You’ll need to check if your policy covers direct payment or reimbursement for these types of services. We work with a large variety of long-term care insurance carriers. If you have a policy you’re trying to decipher, give us a call – we have staff who can assist you with reviewing your coverage options, verifying your eligibility, and helping you arrange payment processes with your insurance carrier.

Our Billing Process

Our caregivers are paid weekly. To ensure accuracy, we bill our clients weekly as well. For those clients and families who pay privately for their services, we accept payment by check, credit card, or wire transfer. Upon request, we can even initiate recurring automatic credit card payments or ACH withdrawals from your bank account.
